care to grace us with some photos, Dr. Hubby?
Looks like we may be dealing with some interesting issues above--1900 obie with a 1000 range serial? In one of the posts above. Is that a 1900 reciever that was stamped with the old serial when the gun was redone? Mauserdoc |

YOUR 1898 M96 Swedish Mauser | ||
|
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SELLING YOUR 1898 M96 SWEDISH MAUSER, I would recommend that you NOT sell it quickly but take your time and sell it openly on one of the major gun trader boards or on-line auctions (GunBroker or AuctionArms).
Depending on condition, originality and parts-matching status, your rifle could be worth well over $500. I sold one of my 1898's last Spring for about $550. IF you would like an honest appraisal, take some photos and post them on the Swedish websites along with a description. Then we can provide an honest estimate of the value of your rifle. Swedeman |

You are in the wrong place . We are looking for first year ( 1898 ) dated Swedish Mausers . You should have started a new post for your questions .
What you have is in the date & serial range of a M-94 or M-94/14 ( W/bayonet lug ) Swedish Mauser carbine . Has it been sporterized or is it full miltary ? The military version has a full length stock . |

I'M BACK!! | ||
|
Hello everybody! Been out of the country for the last year, but see I'm still listed as moderator on this forum (Thanks for waiting for me, John!) As good buddy 318dodge pointed out a few posts above, this post was originally started to gather the serial numbers for m/96 rifles dated 1898, because there are a few disparities in the observed serial numbers. Feel free to brag on your other rifles, but please start a new post to do so. I haven't been in a position to buy any new rifles in the last year, or to even know what the going prices are yet, but I'm still advising everyone to snag every decent Swede they can! A wise old woodworker once said, "If you find wood that excites you, buy all that you can afford, then buy some more."
