Well the income tax refund hit the bank last Monday. Twas a little more than expected, so I went and spent the 'surplus' on a new gun.
Not like I needed another .45, but at $389 or $424 OTD, I could not resist.
It is a Rock Island GI. I replaced their fat wood grips with flat rubber. The Trademark was real small. Hard to see it in the photo, just a small shield. I think that's as close to a GI as anyone makes. Strangely it has a M1911 type flat main spring housing, and a trigger that is neither the 'short', or 'long' type. The grip safety also seems to be inbetween.... I don't plan to shoot it right now.
