On friday I had to day off w/ pay, so the yard work (cleaning un after winter, flower beds to get leaves, weeds out of, scalp lawn, weed eat, edge, etc. Had to keep one eye open for UPS as the MU-12 was OUT FOR DELIVERLY as of 7:02 am!
UPS arrived @ about 2:20.
Just a few pics for now. Wow! Wtis rifle is amazing! What a piece of workmanship! I got a all the goodies w/ it too. Tools, front and rear sight aperatures, slings, arm strap, glove, palm rest, etc. a fitted case too.
This rifle has been in the UK, but the bonus is this: a plate on the fitted box w/ the name & address of the gentleman from the UK that owned it!
Do any of our UK readers know this gentleman, Mr. Roy Goerge from Hull UK (see pic)?
I still have not figured out what the synthetic canister @ the bottom of the pistol grip is. It will not move.
I need to make a scope base for this rifle.
What did I find under the sight, but 5 threaded holes! Woot! @ first I thought they would be some really far-out metric thread. (US gunmakers use the the most odd-ball threaded fastners). Imagine my supprise (and relief), the Russians used a plain, common M5-.80 thread! Very good of them that :t
I acquired the metric Allen screws from Lowes. Plain # 10 US flat & lock washers fit the M5-.80 Allen bolts just fine.
The only power tool I used was a drill press. All the other cutting was done w/ a hacksaw & files.
This project is so coming together!
