Can I use the same load data for the 1911 as I do the K31s?
I have a match coming up and need to either load some ammo or buy some GP11 while it's still in stock locally.

I have a 1911 in addition to my K31s. I know the K31s can use GP11, but can the 1911 safely shoot it also?

The 1911 was the rifle designed around the GP11 ammo. In addition to modernizing their old rifles, in 1913, the Model 1911 was formally adopted. These rifles, along with those converted to the new pattern, fired the new GP11 round. The GP11 round fired a175 grain round at 2640 fps. The 1911 possessed all the improvements listed above. 127,000 1911 Rifles were produced from 1913 to 1919. http://www.swissrifles.com/sr/index.html

Thanks. When I was looking up some load data- all I had died with an older hard drive, I ran across a thread from Swissrifles from 2002. It said something
about the 1911 not being able to take the pressures of ammo for the K31 and to not use GP11 in the 1911.
Say whut? I wanted to check here. I have a couple of boxes of 180gr Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets that should work fine in the 1911. The ogive might be a problem in the K31, but I plan on using some Sierra MatchKings in it. I made a mistake. The thread wasn't on the Swissrifle site. There was a link to Swissrifles in the thread on the Firing Line. It's the 5th post in the
following thread. It was just enough to make me want to check.

Looks like the originally misinformed poster grouped the '89 and the 1911 and has since been corrected.

I didn't read that far. I was just looking for load data and remember seeing that.
