Went hunting this weekend near Campbellton, Tx. Bright moon was out so I went to the blind at 11:30 pm. On the way to the blind there was a hog was under the
feeder and it took off. I thought it would come back later. Well, at 2:30 am Sunday this hog came out. With the moonlight I could see the crosshairs and the
rest is history. We think it was about 150lbs.

Oxxon,
I have never really done any hog hunting, but it looks like if I ever want to I need to get with you. |

I would be interested in your load. I've never hunted hogs but heard they are pretty tough and hard to bring down.
I've had two Twedes but something happens before I ever get around to hunting with them. Traded the first one, and rebarreled to 6mm with the second one, and sold the 6.5 barrel. Still got Swedes though, and plenty of 160 Hornady's and Sierra 160SP. When all else fails, BLAME BUSH! |

nice hog. we have some property in franklin texas that we occasionally hunt hogs on. the 6.5swede would be fine for most of them as long as you have time for a
well placed shot. the hogs on our property vary in size quite a bit so you could use anything from a 22 hornet to a 375 H&H & still have a chance to
make a kill.
a couple of the guys i know put a redlight under the feeder with the switch running to their blind. i also know a guy who runs a pawnshop out of el campo texas that sells a lot of ar-10's set up with suppressors & night vision for the local farmers & hog hunters. only in texas could you pawn your guitar & buy a suppressed ar-10 at the same store

Thanks guys.
I am using a 125gr partition with 45grs of H4350. I try and take head shot when I can. Most of my hunting buddies aim for the shouder and they end up taking a three legged hog home. We use red scope lights and red LED lights with a 12v system. This night I did not need it since I knew the moonlight would be enough. I also use nightvision to see where the hogs are before I turn on the scopelight. Hunting hogs is a blast once you get into it. |

Speaks volumes about the killing power of the puny little Swede, and the performance of that particular bullet !!
The power under the constitution will always be in the people. It is intrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and, whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will be recalled. GEORGE WASHINGTON, letter to Bushrod Washington, Nov. 10, 1787 |
