I am a C&R license holder and have been for several years. The expiration date on my license is, I believe, November 1st. As I recall in the past, I got the renewal form in the mail, in advance of the expiration date, and didn't have to get a renewal form on my own, and all that. I would send it in and I never remember any particular problems in getting it back. Is that still current practice? If I don't get the form in the mail, when should I start getting nervous? Did anybody get theirs renewed recently? Has anyone detected any changes in operation & policy since the current administration has been holding office? Thanks for answering my many questions, Gary

About two months prior to expiration date, I got the package. I sent the app in about 5 weeks prior to expiration, and it took about a month to process and come back to me. No problems. I did use the credit card option to pay. That may possibly expedite things. Long live the Swedish Mauser!!

Usually receive timely notice of expiration and have always paid with check. I renewed for June, 09 expiration and all went well. Mailed renewal app. 5/11/09, check cleared bank 5/14/09 and license shows up 5/26/09. Not to bad, 15 days for turn around. The agent in charge of South Carolina issues was appearently on the ball. There is a provision block available on the application for a Letter of Authorization (LOA) that can be sent until renewal is processed and approved, which I always check. Only once have I received this LOA. Although it was kind of moot, as the license arrived about a week after the LOA. Francis VIS aka Blind Hog "Even a Blind Hog sometimes finds an acorn"
