Given the scarcity of reloadable brass in military calibers I am wondering if there is any reason why brass from blanks can't be reloaded. It seems like it
should be possible to get the crimps out and trim to the right length. Any information or opinions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

What I have heard is it can be done, but you should be careful, and should only reload it one time because of all the stretching, bending, forming process.
What I would think, is it should not be done because some of those crimps on blanks are pretty big, and I personally do not think I would ever trust it, but if I can witness it personally, more than one time, my opinion might change. Now on to what I do know. In my local area there is a very large LE training facility( those who know where I live know what I am talking about), and they allow the local Boy Scouts to come in and collect all of there brass that is left over after training. The Scouts turn it in for recycling, and get a pretty good amount of $$$ for the service they provide, while the training facility gets there range cleaned up for them. So with all that said, even if you can not reload it, you can always recycle it, and get money for reloading material.

BW, I know a fellow who drives by the area rifle range every day on his way home from work. He cleans the range pretty good. You're lucky to find a 22
shell going behind him. Come Christmas time, he takes all the brass into the local metal salvage processor. He's got a pretty good Christmas plan.
