WTG BWT! I will repost the pics up here, but I have a few questions. There is a letter "P" stamped on the side of the receiver. Does this indicate that this rifle was sold to a private citizen? Is there any way I can determine the year of manufacture from the serial number? I have some in the moderator forum. I checked that link last night to see when it was made. All that site shows is they were manufactured 1913-1919 at Eidgenoessische Waffenfabrik, Bern. Total production: 133,000. Is there no way to determine the year more closely, or is that date range the best we can do? I haven't looked into it very closely, but does it being privatized add or detract anything about the rifle? Or are there a lot of them out there? I will take pics then. I may shoot it if I have time to check the sight setting. I ran a patch through the barrel tonight. I saw dust just inside the muzzle and asked about it. The previous owner said he hadn't shot it since he bought it 5 years ago. The patch I ran through came out clean. It's in very very good condition. I will post the pics tomorrow if I get a chance- it IS Valentines Day and my wife is letting me out to shoot the match, so I better be nice to her.
