I have a Lyman Universal trimmer and need the #26 pilot. I haven't loaded rifle before so this might sound dumb, but will any other pilot work? I will be ordering a pilot from Midway unless I can find one locally. I looked at the Cabela's site and they don't list it. Jim NRA Life Member Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... If you are trimming slowly, that is by hand, almost any pilot that goes in will cut it down a little. I have even trimmed by touching the mouth to a grinder. Of course you need to chamfer the mouth afterwards; both edges regardless of your trim method. Trimming is usually necessary in a bolt gun after 3-4 reloadings.

The max length is supposed to be 2.160" and a trim to length of 2.150". I actually screwed up. I sized and deprimed with no problems. I then assembled my Lee handprimer and primed about 60 cases before I remembered to measure my cases. I did trim about 10 cases that I didn't prime with no problem, then I found out I can't find my deburring tool. I swear I have a box of stuff missing. I had hoped to shoot some loads tomorrow, but it looks like I won't be able to. I have a match coming up next weekend and I guess I will have to shoot the K31 again.
