Looks like a good rifle for the price, arsenal rework, like new bore, etc. I would like to know what can be done to accurize the rifle and keep it in it's military stock? Should I bed the action, barrel or both? Free float? Any thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks, Paul

It may be just fine as is. The next thing "I" would do is to try to work up a good load that the rifle likes and then fine tune it. Every rifle is different but usually you do not want to bed the barrel, just the action. Good luck, NH

Posts: 1397 (12/30/08 9:25 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have a lot of rifles (Swiss K-31, German K98, Swedish m96, Springfield '03, Garands,you get the idea.), and my most accurate military rifle is a 24/47, using milsurp ammo. My 24/47 is more accurate that any in my K-31 collection, which surprised me. I would try it out of the box and adjust the receiver screws before any thing else

All I did to it was to have it drilled and tapped and put in a new trigger.

Especially if you are used to commercial firearms. If you shoot milsurplus alot it's probably not as important. I personally can't shoot well at all with a 2 stage trigger or one with alot of travel. I perfer to us Timney featherweight (not the cheaper sportsman) or blackburn triggers. -Don
