Added another Haenel "Schmeisser" 6.35 m/m, serial 16342. This one is only 187 numbers higher than the recently posted nickel finish, boxed Haenel
16155. Note that on serial 16155 the slide address is C.G. Haenel Suhl Germany, while on serial 16342 the slide address is C.G. Haenel Suhl.

They look extremely similar to the Colt 25 auto and the Spanish Ruby of the same calibre. I believe he also built the MP-40. Are you going to shoot it, even
for function?

Outwardly yes, but the internals bear no resemblance and method of barrel attachment is strictly a German design. This attachment design is shared to certain degrees by products of Mauser, Dreyse, Zehna and a couple others. "I believe he also built the MP-40." I do not know anything about NFA weapons, but I do not believe Schmeisser had anything to do with the design of the MP40, MP38 group of submachine guns. I believe it was a culmination of design requests of the German HWA and developed by ERMA. Perhaps you could do some research into this and post the findings to the forum. "Are you going to shoot it, even for function?" Probably not, I very seldom shoot anything any more. Maybe few times during the year I will take a couple out and fire a few shots. Really more of an excuse to meet up with some friends and talk over old times.
