You are certainly off base on ancient history and spiritual matters. Your opinions are certainly secular based, and that is the group that tries to separate religion and politics. Until one recognizes a soveriegn God, politics will go the way of the secularist and self-interest power grabbers.
If all this comes across as a confused muddle, welcome to my world.
Yes, rural politicians are just now waking up to the centralized government takeover and preference to metropolitan where the votes are. They've been delusioned to think our country was being run by the principless of our forefathers and the constitution. Obama is seeing to it that the constitution is being destroyed and the principles of our founders are being washed away. Rednecks are looked down upon by the elitists who run the show. BTW, not all Rednecks are country hicks driving pickup trucks with guns in the window. Redneck is a philosophy based on self dependence, as opposed to government running our lives.
If Obama is "somewhere in the middle" then the middle has moved drastically. He's rapidly moving us toward Marxism. I don't think that is "in the middle". That is certainly not where the independents are. Survey the independents and you will find them leaving the Democrats because they (Dems) have moved so far to the left. And many are leaving GOP for the same reason. GOP has far too many RINOS to satisfy an independent.
And yes, local school boards do still run the daily operation, but are under the control of big government on what they can do. For instance, schools are required to use politically correct material and teach politically correct courses. I've watched our local school district up close and know that many of the teachers are forced to teach things they don't agree with.
