what bore are they now and what condtion are they in?
this could get tricky fast...just thinking it over now... you would have to deep hole bore the barrels to just less than finished diameter. then use a reamer to clean up the drilling and widen again just short of finished diameter....then polish the bores....i guess. almost certainly require a large lathe, the boring drill, reamer i guess you could use an extention on a regular chucking reamer. BUT what are you going to do for the choke? something like this could get hairy quickly and turn your wallet inside out. i am sure other guys have better ideas, and cheaper ideas! |

SAC the muzzle loaders are new & almost new.If the rifling were cut out it could be load as a 28 gauge. If I could get it bored to 5/8 it could be loaded as
a 20 gauge. They would have to be smooth bore with no choke. But it should knock squirrel out while standing under the tree my mtn curs are treeing on.I read
some where a guy said he took a shot out ML and honed it out with a brake hone. But havent see a hone that small.I just think they be fun to shoot..

if all you was going to do is a straight bore then chamber you should be able to buy an adjustable reamer from enco or a set of reamers then build an extension
then use it with a hand drill if you don't have accsess to a lathe. if the finish doensn't come out smooth enco sells flex-hones in sizes that should
work

hey try gunshops around you to see if they have rusted barrels that will fit your stocks. theres always sewer pipe barrels around. maybe trade a good barrel
for bad...maybe even get enough from the trade to pay for a reamer.
you can get a cheap chucking reamer for under $15. use a drill extention rod to go deep. |
