A friend at work brought an old Remington model 572 Fieldmaster for me to clean up and get working. All that was wrong was a crudded up receiver and some rust.
It cleaned up pretty well even though the barrel is missing most of it's bluing. It functions now. I did have to replace a small piece of metal that the forearm/slide rides on over the fill tube.
It has a very old Higgins scope on it. The adjustments are made using a screwdriver. It and the mount look like they may be original to the rifle. It is a very small diameter and is very long.
Does anyone have any info on this old rifle?
Anyone want to give a ballpark value on it?
I believe he inherited it.
