A "friend" of mine neglected to renew his C&R license before it expired. He is wondering if there is any grace period or is it necessary to just
send in a new application?

I don't know the answer but it would be easy to just have himm call his local BATF office. James

If it expired he will have to submit a new application. If it expired very recently- less than a month, the ATF "might" go ahead and allow him to
renew it, but I doubt it.

I renewed mine after it lapsed for 2 months with no problems.
