How accurate is this ammo? Is the brass reusable? If so, how many reloads are you getting from it?

Graf's sells brass and bullets, but alas... "out of stock". Seems I've read something somewhere it's Czech. Good question on how many loads. I would be curious to see that question opened up among the various types of brass. "The nature of your faith is wrapped in the object of your faith" David Jeremiah |

Privi is good stuff, they are made in serbia, but is very high quality brass boxer primed and well made. The ammo is pretty accurate. I have used it several
times in various guns and find to be a bit more accurate than S&B, and with nicer, not so hard brass. I have not reloaded swede or 8mm myself yet, but I
know a few guys who load the 8mm PPU brass and have loaded it 6 or more times with no issues. They do load NATO contract 7.62X51 and 5.56 ammo, and I have shot
a lot of it in M14s also with great luck. I have loaded that(308) brass a time or two and it works well and sizes nice.

Here is a scoop I can give you, no load data, as I am still testing for long term now, but the load is showing 58300 PSI and 2605FPS with 208 AMAX in 30-06
with RL17, to get that with RL22 I had to go over 61000 PSI. I had these loaded up and tested for pressure commercially to be sure. The loads for 6.5X55 are
coming to the tester next. Should be giving about 2700-2800FPS with 140 Berger bullet, and in the 43K Cup range.
Forgot to add, the brass that Grafs sells for obsolete calibers is Privi I am pretty sure.

But why are they out of stock on everything for Swedes. Surely, the Swede is not bellied up. It's far more popular than lots of other brass that is still available. I just talked to the importer of Privi, and they will only sell brass as component through Graf's, so I did complain that I was unable to get Swede brass.
I am calling Graf's right now to see if I can get them to order a bunch, how much does anybody want if I can get it.

Just talked to Graf's and found that the Privi brass only will be a while in coming. They do have Lapua on the way right now, and it will be about 59 per
hundred.

Friend and I are setting up a reloading bench together (he has the space, I have the equipment) and will be looking for suppliers of components. Website
address for Grafs, please, and any others you can recommend? Obsolete calibers a plus; my friend has a 30-40 Krag, I have an 1887 Swedish Nagant pistol, and
other early cartidges interest me. Also sites with good reloading data for various powders/components would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can't evaluate the loaded Privi ammo, cause I never used any, but I am not impressed with the bare bullets. I bought some, both 139 grain FMJ and lead
nose, and the quality control is not good. I measured some as low as .263 in size, and weight varied 1.0-1.5 grains.
I am not sure how much this will affect accuracy, as I haven't shot much of it yet. The size difference does cause some of the bullets to be not as tight in the case when loading as I like them to be, so if you are picky about consistency, you may need to crimp your Privi loads. Other manufacturers product I have is considerably more consistent in size and weight.

Last weekend I shot 40 rounds of Privi through my M96 and I was surprised with the accuracy. I did it mostly so I could reload the brass with my own loads, but
it was a lot of fun to perforate paper at 100yds with open sights while guys around me had trouble doing the same with scopes. Just have to aim about 9 inches
low to be on paper at 100.

I have been trying to decide if this brass is worth what I am thinking of doing with it. I am either going to buy new, unfired brass or this ammo and use the
brass. The ammo is $12.50 per box of 20, so 100 rounds will be $125.00, where the brass alone will be arounf $67.00 per 100 pieces.
