It seems I may have stumped the folks in the handgun section with these questions so I am giving it a shot here.
Any one know about the two stamps that are described below? I believe that they are inspector stamps, but I do not know much else. Any one have a name of the inspectors or could these marks mean some thing else?
Found on the trigger,
Is a crown over "S7" which is over a sideways letter "E". The two digits "S7" I believe are used to identify the individual inspector, while the letter "E" indicates RSAF or Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, England. The "S7" inspectors stamp could possibly be the number "57".
Found on the face of the cylinder,
Is a crown over the letters "SS" which is over a sideways letter "E". The two digits "SS" I believe are used to identify the individual inspector, while the letter "E" indicates RSAF or Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, England. The "SS" inspectors stamp could possibly be the number "55".
