Hey 318, Thank you for the quick reply. The screws I am trying to describe are the 3 that hold the scope side mount onto the rifle. Please take a look at my
image. I have read (From a posting of a man from Sweden in another site years ago) that the initial use of the 3 screws on the side mount did not have the
extra offset hole drill next the the screw hole. Then the hole was then dimpled using a punch to throw a bit of metal over onto the screw to keep the 3 screws
set in place. I do not...

The number on my Sniper Scope is NR339, 3x65, m/44 . It can be seen in an up close photo I have posted at my haasenswede account. Still hoping for someone to
tell a bit more about the year of this scope. I do not believe it was made in 1942. The scope mounts during this WWII period had a counter drilled hole to hold
the set screws in place. Mine does not have this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1899 6.5 from OB. I have never yet scene a scope like mine. The rifle is 98% blued. The stock is tiger maple. It has the original sling. The scope is
near mint condition. It has a bullet drop dial for 200-800M but does not have the tighten down thumb screw. The scope mount also does not have the counter
drilled holes which to me means scoped prior to WWII. Hope to let all enjoy a rare gem. I tried to post an image, but could not get it to accept. Help me to
get you all an image to see.

Ajack Scope #s Nr. 2808/1942 B the other Nr. 3823/1942 B I hope this helps. I have a question about the #s. The rifles are made in 1900, the scopes
are made in 1942, the mount made in a different factory, the scope can made in a factory of its own. Add to this confusion what I've read is different in
each book, and what I've been told really makes no sense. Now I've heard about matching #s, what I want to know is whats suppose to match. Can any one
help?
