I don't recognize that mark. I have not seen that before. Now I need to check my pistols. Also, I wouldn't even know where to look for that infomation. Maybe Colt itself can identify it.

I received my 2 sistema's today. They are not import marked anywhere that I can see. (I haven't taken the grips off yet) Photo's are from right out of the box. Both pistols have matching slides and frames, barrels do not match. I haven't taken them apart yet so I don't know what they are marked. I also noticed that one main spring housing is not correct for a sistema according to my book it is a Late colt and Ithaca manufactured by Cayuga Moters (7...

NOW THAT'S A DEAL!!! Reasons: Slow economy....Lack of interest...or..You got real lucky with a highly motivated seller! Probably the latter as a result of the former. You could probably sell those for more than you paid for sure thereby proving lack of interest as no consequence. Be sure to post the rest of the details, all matching, barrel condition, etc. Ofcourse that will not be as important since they are shooters anyway only to be rebuilt. Nice aquisitions. Looks like the top one still has the original grips. Hopefully they are all matching and you can tell the condition of the barrel. There are (or at least were) import marks and I am sure that you know where to look. That is not really a big deal with these guns in my opinion. I believe that all are imported as there is no such thing as a "GI bringback" with these pistols unless one found its' way to Korea, Vietnam was captured and then sneaked back into the...

Picked up these 2 yesterday. They should arrive on Wednesday.
I think (in my opinion) I got a pretty good deal on these 2 shooters. One is blue other on is parked. Selled said he saw no import marks.
According to my information both were made in 1955. I will know more about them once they arrive.

It sure does. Pics are difficult for me but you described it to a "T"! Clausons did not (suprisingly so) did not have that serial range and I checked it a few times just to be sure. He got a nice deal for a 1958 pistol.

Here's a photo of one of my sistema's. Note: no markings other than the serial number on the right side of the slide. This pistol has a Mfg'd date of about mid 1965.

Any change you could get a photo of both sides of the slide. I would like to compare it to some "drawings" I have.
Serial # 1005XX (according to my records) was Mfg'd in 1958 a production run of 5,547 pistols. Started with Serial Number 95,782 and ended with Serial Number 101,328.
My records also show a drawing of a pistol (Serial Number 94850) without proprietary markings, beleived to have been made for COMMERCIAL sales. The drawing shows the slide with...

Yes you are correct sir. You found the same numbers that I did however, his serial number is 1005XX which is before that serial range and after the previous range. It is not listed anywhere. Can you also explain its' lack of proper slide markings? This is an unusual piece, one I've not been able to explain with any certainty. Thanks!

Nice guns! To add to this thread, my friend wanted one (as I have 4) and he bought one from the Richmond Va. gun show for $426 OTD. the seller would not even budge on price. It is a late model with a serial number 1005??. It has all matching numbers! The slide does NOT have the seal and the Exercito... etc. Sist, Colt is there however. I can't explain it and it does not show up in the Clausons book of Argentine production numbers. It functions flawlessly.

7 sistema's, 1 commercial colt(, 1 Ithaca, 1 colt frame,Ithaca slide mixmaster & working on the 8th sistema right now, but having a tough time trying to "haggle" the price on #8.

I was at a small gun show N/W of Milwaukee and found this Sistema.
Reblued (almost black) asking price was $500. All matching, except for magazine,no import mark, new grips. I paid $460 OTD. I think I may rebuild this one with all new internal parts like I did on one of my others.
I need another good shooter with adjustable sights.
