			<description><![CDATA[ Well, tonight was a nice quiet afternoon, I got home from work at 5 and noone was home but me and the dog so, I decided to take my Turkish bolt apart and see
if I could polish it up a little.  I stripped it down and then began sanding the black haze off of it with medium grit emory cloth.  Then I went back over it
with fine grit and finished up with 0000 steel wool (left over from the stock refinish).  Mauser bolts have alot of raised areas to have to work around but it

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>I finally got a nice day to visit the range.  Took the Turk out for it&#39;s maiden fire, also brought my Mosin Nagant 91/30 for it&#39;s first time, and
sighted in my Ruger 77 and my daughter&#39;s Winchester Featherweight.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Since I&#39;m in a posting mood, here&#39;s a couple of photos of my Turk with the sling I made for it.  I still need to age the laces so they aren&#39;t so
prominent but its a nice thick strap of leather and it feels good on the shoulder.

			<title><![CDATA[ Worn barrel? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ So I&#39;ve been checking out the auction sites lately and noticed alot of sellers putting a bullet in the end of the rifle to show (I guess) the existing
guage of the barrel.  So, curious as I am, I tried it on my Turk...d*mn bullet went in up to the casing.  Does this indicate an overly worn barrel?  The barrel
is dark with prominent rifleing.  I&#39;m set to take it out to the range this week (was going to go yesterday but my buddy bailed on me...mumbled something

			<title><![CDATA[ Thud's Turk After shots ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>I can&#39;t seem to get brighter or clearer shots today but here they are.  The rifle looks so much better than these photos show.  The dark shaded areas in
the stock don&#39;t show up.  ( the flash really shows the hidden cosmo deep in the wood)  I didn&#39;t do any heavy sanding and the camera also points out the
scratches and dings that you can&#39;t see when handling it.  It&#39;s been checked and now it needs to kill some paper targets.  Overall this first attempt

I&#39;ve been lurking in the shadows until this past week when I picked up this nice 1903 Turk.  Since the photos it&#39;s been stripped to the bones, and
de-cosmolined.  The stock has also been stripped, and sweated in the oven.  It looks alot better now.  I can&#39;t decide what shade of oil to refinish the
stock in, any suggestions?

			<title><![CDATA[ 1943 K.Kale Long rifle ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>I just picked up a all matching K.Kale Long rifle # 1245XX with a pristene bore for $200, bluing is dark blue with no rust and about 95%, stock has minor
dings and some oil soaking that I have been heating out.</p>

<p>Strangly it has brass screws for the buttplate, slingswivel, cleaning rod, and a brass center tube for the stock &quot;firing pin tool&quot; thruhole with
steel flanges.</p>

<p>Overall about a 90% condition rifle that does not seem to have been issued for any use.</p>
