M41B Front Sight Hood

I have been trying to find the correct front sight hood for the M41B rifle. The correct hood is taller than the M96 version. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Shot some Swedes this week.

I got to shoot some of my Swedes this week to dial in the scopes and try some loads. Best was my dark stocked Model 96 with one group of 3 in 7/8 inch group at 100 yards. Got lucky on a load early for that one, it seems.

M96 blank stock disk

My 1906 M96 has a blank grey steel disk where one would normally find a brass disk with the arsenal info on it. This disk has a 2 screw attachment vs the single of the brass. The rifle is in excellent condition - all matching, etc., with all the bluing intact. Bore is perfect, also, and it has an unthreaded muzzle. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago. 1902 M96 with Lyman diopter sights, different trigger and some bolt work. A mute point now but all the remaining numbers match except the cleaning rod. It came with 4 boxes of surplus ammo, 50 count bag of Rem brass and 80 140 grain bullets. $250. The bore and crown are in excellent shape and the trigger is dream. The barrel was not shortened and the stock is still intact. Looks to me like the bolt may have been shortened. I thought of maybe trying to...

All these are CG rifles. One of these will become my unofficial sniper rifle.

M96 Bayonets

Hi, A widow coworker of mine just came across a couple of her husbands bayonets. They are M96's one has a leather frog and scabbard (condition fair), one only a scabbard (condition good). Do you guys know an approximate selling price for them? She is moving and I have no M96 rifle, so I would like to help her out.

Went to a small show locally and was surprised at the number of swedes that were around. None were matching, all looked so-so to pretty good (when doesn't a Swede?) no Husqy's and one marked as sniper, sans optics. Prices went from 350$ to $795 (the sniper). There was one Lungman, looked absolutely gorgeous, $1400 with tool roll. Temptation was strong on this one. Prices seemed a little high to me, but I guess that is where the market is at. Ok, it's an Interarms 33/50 that I picked up.
I removed the screw and pushed down on the spring loaded pin but cannot get anything to move even a fraction of an inch. Is there something that I am missing??

well not exactly free. i had been looking for a redfield 3200 24x target scope for one of my projects & when i found one it just happened to be attatched to an all matching husky m38. its mounted with a s&k scout mount so the rifle wasn't drilled & tapped plus the owner included the original rear sight. it also has a timney trigger installed but the original trigger was included along with a bore protector & a copy of north capes the swedish mauser rifles. bore looks great...

Is the wooden ammo reloadable as is?

The wooden gallery practice ammo is pretty cheap still. Has anyone tried to pop the wooden bullet off, empty and recharge the cartridge (according to an approved recipe of course) and seat/crimp a real bullet on it?

Are the primer and casing suitable for that purpose? Seems like a cheap source of primed brass, or are there technical issues that aren't obvious?

I'm paring down what I own and am considering selling a sporterized 96 that I bought about 2 years ago. It came drilled and tapped with Weaver bases and the bolt handle bent. All the numbers were matching and the barrel was marked 2 if memory serves. The barrel is still in it's original configuration so it would make a decent replacement barrel to restore with.

I thought that I'd come here, to the people in the know, and see what these things are bringing these days....

M38 rear sight

I noticed something funny about the rear sight on my M38. The right ear is higher than the left. It's really annoying. I seated the rear sight several times and didn't change anything. Nothing feels loose and nothing looks obviously bent, but when I look through the sights the right side is higher. I think it is twisted or something. It doesn't look flat across, but seems to be slanted.

Does anyone have any idea why and how I can fix it?

I had a CG 63 once upon a time but had to sell. Now I'm thinking about another to shoot some high power with. Will the sight assemblies (Elit and Soderin) that I have to choose from allow me to get on the paper from 200 yards out to 600?

M41b scopes

I recently saw a very nice M41b with an AGA scope at a gun show for $1400. It was part of an estate and had been acquired about 20 years ago. I hoped to follow up with the seller the next day after I had a chance to check my Crown Jewels book and verify some features on the gun. Unfortunately someone else beat me to it. Are there any Swede 6.5x55 mm surplus barrels, last year they were listed everywhere and now nothing. I've got a beautiful 1934 turk I'd like to rebarrel to that caliber and its basicly a screw in job.
