I am a newbie to C&R, but i saw a spanish fr-8 in .308 on gunbroker for a reasonable price. can anyone fill me in on these rifles? thanks for the help!

Shot the Calvary Carbine and the model 1916. The carbine kicks like crazy. I forgot about that sling swivel and saddle ring, and got soundly rapped in the jaw on the first shot. Secind shot I decided to put my hand over it and keep it off my face, and my knuckles rapped my in the jaw.

It is a fun little gun though. I think I am going to swap sides on the sling hardware.

i added another 1909 to my collection last week.
this ones not quite as nice as my last one but its still not bad.
receiver, barrel, bolt & bottom metal match, stock doesn't & has been sanded & refinished with tung oil.
bore looks good. the receiver is no longer in the white & a few parts were painted black.

I recently acquired a Model 95 Chilean in pretty good condition. No corrosion at all, and a very good bore. The wood is bruised and dented, of course, but it cleaned up pretty nicely. I just got word the Model 93 that was in transit to me has just arrived at home. I plan to take some pics this weekend of my South American Spanish ladies, which now include a model 91 Argie, two model 93s, the 95 Chilean and a recently acquired Model 1908.

Ahhhhhhh, the 7 X 57 bug has bitten...

Which Spanish Mauser bolts interchange?

Which Spanish bolts are interchangeable? I have a model 93 type bolt out of an Oveido rifle. Will it work in a model 95 Chilean receiver, and vice versa? And what is a model 94 Spanish rifle? Are those receivers similar? Thanks.

I bought this little rifle nearly 50 years ago and I've been carrying it on my books as an 1895 Spanish Mauser. It is in 7x57 and not a CETME conversion but I'm not sure if it is an 1895 or one of the conversions to 1916. Its not in the best of shape, it came with an arsenal repair to a split behind the rear receiver tang (see screw in photo) and although I sanded and true oiled the stock I treated it like an orphan and left it unattended in the basement when we lived in Georgia....

i picked this one up about a year ago as a parts gun. the only parts it was actually missing were the buttplate screws, a few bolt parts & the handguard. its finally all together now. the previous owner had added a second recoil screw behind the rear action screw & had started sanding the stock. the handguard is a cutdown 93 rifle that i may artificially stripe to match the stock. all the metal has been painted black & eventually i'll strip the paint & blue everything. its...

1912 Chilean Mauser in 7mm

Bought this at a gun show a few months back, rifle was dirty and took some cleaning.

The receiver is marked on the top of the receiver Modelo 1912 below Crest and WAFFENFABRIK STEYR with AUSTRIA underneath on the left side of the receiver and the stock is serial stamped to the receiver. Also came with it's cleaning rod and an original sling. Also found a nice bayonet at the same gun show to finish it up.

I lucked into a 1916 Guardia Civil SAMCO import in .308 yesterday (I'm well aware of the chambering issues). On the used rack at a local gun shop, it was $100 even. Some idjit had ground off the crest in order to drill and tap it for a scope and thus serious collector value is essentially nil. The bore looked like it could clean up ok so I went for it.

Hi all, I was reloading some 8x57 the other day and the die wasn't set right so the first bullet I seated pushed the neck down and bulged the shoulder a little, so I pulled it and ran it through the FL die again, it came out close but not perfect but I recon it should be ok, anyway I ran that round through my 03 turk and the bolt wouldn't close,so I ran it through my 1904 Vergueiro and again it wouldn't close, then I ran it through my 1946 spanish La Coruna[it has a mismatched...

Hi guys; My first forum here I recently purchased a sporterized mauser .308 sight unseen. After much research from other forums i see that i have a spanish m93. My orginal intentions were to be able to reload for this gun but after much research on the M93 Im finding myself very concerned. Im a avid handloader & looking for some low pressure loads using IMR powders or H380 which i have on hand. Any input or recepies would be appreacated. thanks

Here's one I had for a couple years and with the help from a friend, I finally put her back together. It was a mix match of parts and was is a CZ stock but it shot great so I wanted to put her back to her original configuration. The only thing missing still is the rear sight screw, I'll have to keep an eye out for an argie marked one.

Hello All

Wanted to ask if 7MM stripper clips for the M93/95 are wider
than 8MM clips. I tried to use 8MM clip to load an M95
Chilean with no luck so before i order some 7MM clips I wanted to know if there is a difference in the use of the two
regarding the M95?
