DA Canadian arrow, 1943, DI , Z, small primer (cellulose powder) staked, purple around primer, crimped on case mouth, white tip on bullet

DA Canadian arrow 1943 W1 green around large primer, staked, 4 stabs in case neck

I was offered a No5 Mk1 it has some issues a previous owner sanded the stock, not to heavily thank heaven, and removed the blue (I guess he wanted a shiney gun) but the price was only $300 OTD. I cleaned the metal with lighter fluid and applied some cold blue so it now looks dignified.

Here's one that popped up on the local classifieds, naturally I couldn't pass it up. Picked up the whole package for $220.

Haven't snapped any pics of my own but here is the pic that was with the add.

Rifle is a BSA Co. 1916 Sht. LE III* with magazine cutoff and windage adjust rear sight.

No7 Bayo question

Hello everybody,

I think everybody knows the strange No 7 bayo for the Sten MK IV and also the Lee Enfield No4... They have those typical red-brown grips...but now I can buy an exemple with black grips. I can't find any information about these black grips... so I hope somebody on this forum can help me with it. The seller told me it is an experimental one..but is it?? Or is it a commercial version???

When did they made the first No7's?? After WWII or also during...

Have an Ishapore 2A I am taking down to bead blast and park the metal. So far so good, except I can't figure out how to remove the butt stock from the action. Instructions, polite or not, would be most appreciated.

Lee Enfield n°4 MKI flash hider???

Hello everybody,

Does anybody know the removable flash hider for the Lee Enfield n°4 as seen in the picture below?? Was it an official used item by the British army?? If yes, during WWII or later?? Or is it just a modern gadget??

Today my dad gave me his grandfather's .303. I think its an SMLE MKI but I'm not positive. The gun isn't in great shape, but I want to restore it. The marking I can read are: a stamp of a crown/ER/BSA Co./1905./Sht LE I*** On the other side has a bunch of numbers ('06, '07) and some letters, but they don't line up in a way that makes a lot of sense to me. There is a bit of surface rust on this part as well.

The Serial Numbers on the receiver, barrel, rear sight and bayonet lug match; the bolt is a mismatch.
(The magazine is not serialized.)

Ran across this little beauty for sale locally and was wondering what it is worth. The individuals father bought it after WWII as war surplus in the late 40's and never shot it or even bothered to clean off the cosmo. Forearm looks to be replaced along with the rear hand guard. S/N match on bolt, receiver and sight and I believe the nose cap. Don't know about anything else since the son is learning as we email.. Everything you see in the pics posted that looks like rust is only...

Can anyone help me figure out what is so special about this rifle. I do like it, and it is clean, and it has good sights, but I can not figure out why he thinks it is worth so much. Does this guy really have something special, or does he just think he has something great?

So as I have said before I am still pretty new to Enfields, but so far I am loving them. The only thing is I am getting to the point that I really need to do more reading then just what I find on the Internet. So does anyone have any suggestions on and good Enfield books, to help school me up? Thanks all who can help.

No.2 MK I* revolver inspectors stamps

It seems I may have stumped the folks in the handgun section with these questions so I am giving it a shot here.

Any one know about the two stamps that are described below? I believe that they are inspector stamps, but I do not know much else. Any one have a name of the inspectors or could these marks mean some thing else?

Found on the trigger,
Is a crown over "S7" which is over a sideways letter "E". The two digits "S7" I believe...
